Concept: "the 5 star protection" guarantee/warranty program was designed to be the most comprehensive pro-active promise in the industry. This program takes into consideration the scope of the project as being the clients home and attempts to create quality standards to rely on and warranty protection in case of failure that are real and useful. The concept is designed to span a reasonable amount of time from the manufacturing process to a time when the home becomes settled into and lived in.

In summary, the idea is to create a sense of comfort and security for the Sierra client. Establishing that their large investment into their custom home is as thoroughly protected as it could be from failure and malfunction for as long a time that is realistically possible and reasonable.

SIERRA 5 STAR PROTECTION PROGRAM:

1. Log grade species guarantee - Sierra guarantees the logs to be as promised by the contract for species and structural grade of log. The log will be "tpi grade stamped" and letter of certification of grade follows the log. ("Tpi" stands for timber products inspection and is the grading company Sierra is registered with for grading standards and compliancy)

2. Log moisture content guarantee - Sierra guarantees the logs to be standing dead and under 20% average moisture content for the complete log package.

3. Log millwork workmanship warranty - Sierra warrants the log package to be free of millwork defect at the time of delivery. If such defect exists, Sierra will replace or fix log or timber defect until it is deemed correct. (This is initially satisfied by the 5-10% extra logs delivered at time of primary delivery for immediate log swap if product has some defect found during time of construction)

4. Log home structure warranty - Sierra warrants the structural integrity of the home for 10 years from date of completion through a third party warranty program. This warranty is underwritten by an independent company to cover any structural defect that might occur over 10 years following the completion of the home. Such structural problems covered would be: decay, defective timber, failed structural systems, etc. The policy covers the structure from the sill plate of the first floor through roof structure. The deductible is $250 per structural claim request. The policy is prepaid by Sierra and given to client at time of home completion. the policy is transferable if home is sold.
